PVC Gate Valves

Sub-Categories:

PVC gate valves are designed to quickly block or permit the flow of fluids, gases, or fumes. They operate using a gate mechanism that can be lifted to let the media through or lowered to block the media’s flow. Every gate valve is made up of an actuator (lever or wheel handle to operate the gate), housing (holds the valve in place), and gate (lifts or lowers to permit or impede flow).

While it may sound complex, the design of PVC gate valves is actually simple. When the valve is open, the gate simply lifts up to allow liquids, gases, or fumes to flow freely. When the valve is closed, the gate comes down to prohibit anything from coming through. Since the main function of PVC gate valves is to control the flow inside of a pipeline, they are an especially useful option when a gradual shutoff is beneficial.

More about PVC Gate Valves...

PVC gate valves come in several variations. There are two different handle styles available in this type of valve—rising stem or non-rising stem. Additionally, PVC gate valves come with socket ends or threaded ends to meets the requirements of any pipeline system.

PVC is an excellent material for gate valves because it is corrosion and chemical resistant and can handle high pressures. It’s also durable and low maintenance. These properties make PVC gate valves a popular and cost-effective alternative to metal valves, and they are commonly used for numerous applications, including indoor plumbing, hot tubs, septic systems, landscaping, aquatics, irrigation, chemical processing, and more. PVC is a versatile material that can be used for many applications without breaking the bank.

Smart alternatives to metal valves since they are more affordable, PVC gate valves are still able to provide reliability and durability. PVC is manufactured to withstand temperatures as high as 140⁰F, and it also stays in great condition when exposed to freezing temperatures outside.

Key features include:
